Bonsai - art of unlimited scope. A single piece is never "done" - it changes over the seasons and becomes more beautiful with increasing years.
We bring you the first competitive bonsai exhibition. You will see bonsai from leading Czech growers. The jury will be composed of experts in the field and we will also select a bonsai, which will catch the eye of the director of our botanical garden.

The exhibition will be open from 2 September from 3 pm and will take place in cooperation with the Czech Bonsai Association and under the auspices of the Japanese Embassy.
Accompanying program
Through the presentation of bonsai art, the exhibition introduces visitors to the traditional art and culture of Japan.
You can look forward to a demonstration of the Urasenke school tea ceremony with the possibility of tasting Matcha whipped tea.
Traditional Japanese cuisine will be presented and there will be a drum performance by the group Wadaiko yosa, playing Japanese drums or the traditional Japanese theater Kyogen.
Demonstrations of martial arts are prepared and children and adults can try out how origami is composed.
As part of the accompanying program of the exhibition, experts will demonstrate the shaping of bonsai using professional techniques and materials.
